Bulldozer, Grasshopper
The Caterpillar company named itself after an insect's vulnerable larval stage. How fitting that this grasshopper commandeered one of their bulldozers. The blade that scraped away topsoil now pushes concrete back into rubble.
Over 2 million acres of land are bulldozed annually in the U.S., killing or displacing 248 trillion insects from soil alone, excluding every flying insect, every grasshopper in the grass, every bee on a flower. The total carnage remains unmeasured.
Nobody's counting.
